Why Run A Playgroup?

Some adults see play as trivial but for babies and children play is important work. It is the natural way little people "wire up their brains" and learn how to:

• use their bodies
• use their imagination
• solve problems
• express their feelings
• communicate
• get along with others
• make sense of their surroundings
• try out adult behaviour

Pyrmont Playgroup is held from 10:00 am-11:30 am each Wednesday morning of the NSW school terms in the Pyrmont Community Centre to give local children and their carers (parents, grandparents, other family, nannies, etc) the opportunity to come together in a fun, safe and supportive way. Entirely run by volunteers, there are many opportunities for every member to contribute, play and learn with other people - both children and adults.
